Gaj Kesari Yoga is one of the most significant yogas in Vedic astrology, as it can bless the native with wealth, success, creativity, authority, spiritual growth, and other positive things. Exalted planets, in simple words, refer to the expansion of a planet and gaining strength. In this post, we will take a closer look at the formation of Gaj Kesari Yoga and the exaltation of planets.
According to the Prevalent Definition
Jupiter can be present in any one of the 12 houses in a horoscope. Counting from the house of placement of the Moon, the presence of Jupiter in the 4 out of 12 houses results in the formation of Gaj Kesari Yoga. So if the Moon is placed in the first house of a horoscope, the placement of Jupiter in the fourth, first, seventh, or tenth house will lead to Gaj Kesari yoga in the horoscope. So, according to its prevalent definition, the presence of Jupiter in 4 out of the 12 houses of a horoscope will lead to the formation of this yoga.
Formation of Gaj Kesari Yoga
However, there are some conditions to be met for Gaj Kesari Yoga to be formed in a horoscope. The primary condition is that all the planets involved in the formation of the yoga should be beneficial in that horoscope. Hence, for Gaj Kesari yoga to be formed, both the Moon and Jupiter should be helpful in the horoscope. These two planets can broadly make four combinations when present in the same house of horoscope. But out of these four combinations, only the combination of benefic Moon with benefic Jupiter can result in the formation of Gaj Kesari Yoga.
The remaining three combinations may not lead to the formation of Gaj Kesari Yoga in the horoscope. This is due to the fact that either one or both planets are malefic, so they may not result in the formation of Gaj Kesari Yog but instead form malefic yogas in which the malefic planet may hit the general and the specific significances of the benefic planet.
What are Exalted Planets?
All planets among the nine planets in Vedic astrology keep moving from one sign to the next during their transitory motion. This happens in a cyclic movement and at different speeds. The journey of each planet starts from Aries, completes at Pisces, and this process begins again such that the planet enters Aries again. The placement of a planet in its sign of exaltation means that the planet will expand and thrive there, and these are called exalted planets. But it does not tell much about the working nature of the planet.
On the other hand, the placement of a planet as a sign of debilitation means that it will feel restricted and weakened. This indicates that when a malefic planet is placed in the most suitable sign, it will expand and operate at its maximum strength. Hence, the word exalted is attached to this planet, which means that the planet expands itself and gains maximum strength.
